What to Expect in 2022
The Minnesota Golden Gophers are coming off an 8-4 season in 2021, which was their best finish since 2019. They return a lot of experience on both sides of the ball, and they should be a contender in the Big Ten West Division. The offense will be led by quarterback Tanner Morgan, who is entering his fifth season as the starter. Morgan is a veteran, and he should be able to provide stability for the Gophers. He has a lot of weapons to work with, including running back Mohamed Ibrahim, who is one of the best in the country. The defense will be led by linebacker Jack Gibbens, who is a Butkus Award candidate. The Gophers also have a lot of talent in the secondary, led by safety Tyler Nubin. The Gophers have a tough schedule in 2022, but they should be able to contend for a Big Ten West Division title. They have a lot of experience, and they have a lot of talent. If they can stay healthy, they should be a force to be reckoned with.
Prediction: 9-3 (6-3 Big Ten)
The Gophers should be able to win at least nine games in 2022. They have a lot of experience, and they have a lot of talent. If they can stay healthy, they should be a force to be reckoned with.
